Lubrilys Lubrication Software

Dear Sirs, find attached this post by Mouad Chemaou, Product Manager of Lubrilys & Prolabys. You can know more about his company in www.lubrilys.co.uk

There are many benefits to optimizing a company’s lubrication program, least of which is the significant reduction in maintenance costs.  Studies have shown that, although lubrication costs only account for 1 to 5% of the total maintenance cost, the benefits introduced by an optimized lubrication program can total up to 30% of the total maintenance cost.  Other benefits include longer lifecycles for equipment, optimized energy consumption, increased productivity for maintenance personnel, reduced number of production steps and optimized use of lubricants.
An optimized lubrication program involves the implementation of sustainable lubrication best practices.  This can be achieved through effective change management by obtaining management buy-in, delivering adequate staff training and introducing the appropriate process and hardware changes.  Essentially, however, an optimized lubrication program should be accompanied and supported by the right lubrication management software.
Lubrication management software (LMS) supports the lubrication activity.  Ultimately, an LMS tool enables the use of the right lubricant at the right time in the right place by providing companies with the appropriate tools to streamline the lubrication activity.  In practice, LMS tools manage the lubrication schedule, enabling their users to create work orders of various frequencies and to track time and material consumption.
Traditional LMS tools have been around for a few years and we, at LUBRILYS, believe that, as well as supporting basic lubrication management activities, these tools should evolve to support and promote lubrication best practices, therefore enabling the implementation of a sustainable optimized lubrication management program.
We believe that our product, LUBRILYS, goes a long way to support best practices. Below find some examples of functionality bringing best practices at the heart of the tool.
Knowledge management:
The “tip” functionality is used throughout the application, providing users with activity-specific tips.  These are pieces of advice or reminders that sustain best practices knowledge, making it part of the day to day operations.
In addition to these “tips”, the application also provides a gallery of pictograms which can be printed out and displayed.
Driving precision lubrication:
LUBRILYS comes with a dashboard that displays a set of key metrics.  The tool offers great flexibility, allowing users to personalize the dashboard with metrics that are more appropriate for their business.
Controlling contamination:
LUBRILYS helps control contamination by supporting color coding for lubricants and 5S practices.

LUBRILYS also offers other tools to propose potential materials consolidation, and leakage control for lubricated elements.

Automation:
One of the tools provided by LUBRILYS lists lubrication points better suited for automation, based on a set of criteria.  This will ensure automation remains on management’s radar as changes to the lubrication plan are introduced.
We believe that, as well as supporting basic lubrication management activities, thus enabling the use of the right lubricant at the right time and place, LUBRILYS supports optimized lubrication management programs by supporting best practices and introducing functionality to help sustain these practices across the long run.
